Numerous Car Burglaries, One Stolen Vehicle Reported In Wilton

Car burglars were on the move in Wilton overnight with police reporting numerous burglaries in the northern part of the town.

Most the burglaries took place Monday evening on Ridgefield Road, Mountain Road, Millstone Road, and Hickory Hill Road, in the northern part of Wilton, said Wilton Police Lt. Robert Kluk.

Cash, personal items, and a handgun were stolen from the vehicles. The department is also investigating a stolen 2015 Porsche Cayenne taken from a driveway on St. Johns Road which has not been recovered, Kluk said.

Kluk said the thieves are targeting unlocked vehicles, and stealing vehicles which have the keys left in them.

"Everyone is reminded to please lock your vehicles and remove any items of value even if your vehicle is parked at your residence," he added.

The department is requesting that anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity or recorded any suspicious activity during the overnight hours to contact 203-834-6260.
